Exhibitions and Artwork For Charity
Below are listed exhibitions/events Jude is involved in and pictured are some of her paintings which she has donated to charities close to her heart with details of the recipients or gifts she has given.
After Dark - With Love Charity Series
Ethics Trading announced the release of their new addition to their With Love Charity Series, namely After Dark, using my drawing on the front cover. This lovely series of books are the original idea of Sarah Barnard and Catrina Taylor. After Dark, which has a paranormal theme, adds to the anthology series which aims to raise money for Medecins Sans Frontieres. All the wonderful stories in this book were donated by very talented and independent authors, and I was overjoyed to be asked to donate the artwork on the front cover. To buy the book for just $3.99 you can go to Smashwords or Amazon. The money from the sale of these books is donated to Medecins Sans Frontieres (Doctors Without Borders).
Flaxmill Maltings Community Arts Open Exhibition
Ditherington, Shrewsbury, SY1 2HX
10th and 11th September 2011
This exhibition took place during the open weekend at Flaxmill Maltings on the 10th and 11th of September. It was open to artists working in a wide range of media, including photography, visual arts, video, sculpture, textiles etc. and Jude was amongst those artists. The open arts weekend was very successful seeing almost 1000 people going through the doors of the Flaxmill, viewing the arts on show and finding out more about this important historic building.
"Blodyn Breuddwyd"
Gift For A Friend
This is two canvasses each 8" x 20" painted around the sides (hence the gap in the centre), which I've only finished today (5th July 2011). I've painted this for two reasons - one because I haven't painted since early May and I needed to do it for therapeutic reasons; and two, this is for my best friend for her birthday later this month, she loves poppies. It's called "Blodyn Breuddwyd" which is Welsh for 'Dream Flower'. You pronounce the name 'blodin brrray-thoo-id'.

One of the Collaborative Pieces "Spring"
Severn Hospice Tweetup
"Valdary"
I've was involved in arranging a fundraiser in aid of Severn Hospice and in memory of a very special lady. Severn Hospice is an independent charity which provides care for those people who are living with complex, progressive or incurable illnesses. The idea came about via Twitter when a dear friend of many living in and around Shropshire passed away in December 2010. She loved Twitter, she loved sunsets and she loved fantasy art and I wanted to paint something in her memory. The fundraiser was on the 19th March 2011 and now this painting hangs in one of the Therapy Rooms at The Severn Hospice in Telford, UK.
"A Time For Reflection" Painting
Network With Style Fundraiser for Severn Hospice
This painting was undertaken in November 2010 in collaboration with a very talented professional photographer, namely Phil Barrett of PbArtWorks. Jude painted this from one of his beautiful landscape photographs.
The painting was donated to Network With Style, Shropshire who ran an event in aid of Severn Hospice. Severn Hospice is an independent charity which provides care for those people who are living with complex, progressive or incurable illnesses.
